Porpoise puns yay -_-
This wonderful challenge has been something that I have wanted to do for a long while now.. I just didn't have much motivation to do so.
This porpoise here is a re-draw of one of my first Oekaki drawings ever.
It was drawn in 2010, and to this day I have not been able to look at it without disdain at it's unseemly appearance.
Dolphins... they were something that I drew a lot for some reason. But, it remains a fact that no matter how many times I tried, I couldn't get their flipping flippers to look right, and I absolutely detested the poor animals solely for their blasted anatomy. So, sometime between 2010 and two-thousand-now, I gave up on the creatures.
I don't think I've drawn a dolphin since the ghastly specimen from 2010, so I was stepping out of my comfort zone with this little guy.
Despite my inability to wrap my head around the fact that I still don't like drawing dolphins (or any fish/sea mammal for that matter), I must admit that I am slightly pleased with the fact that I was only one minute or so over the time that I spent on the original.
(although, since that was four years ago I'm going to go weep in a corner and beat myself up over the fact that I still succeed when it comes to wasting time)
Here's a side-by-side comparison for anyone who's remotely interested in my subtle achievements ^^
New (2014) -------------------------------------- Old (2010)
