So, here's a little mini-tutorial made specifically for you and your skill set, iReload, and let the images above help you:
1. Make stripes as you always do.
2. Use the eraser tool on full opacity to make the stripes thinner and have sharper edges. This is must successful if used with pen pressure, though if you do not have pen pressure or a tablet, just use a small size and work your way around the edges of the stripes.
3. If you want to add some extra pizzaz to your stripes, use the. . . not exactly sure what this tool is called, actually. I'm just going to call it a soft eraser, I suppose. It's the one next to the eraser tool, anyway. So use that on the bottoms of the stripes if you want them to look like they are gradually fading.
