The Lost Riders Entry #3

Postby AirAngel » Tue Feb 11, 2014 11:48 am

OH MY GOD I AM FINALLY DONE.

This fellow is my little "bombshell". Hopefully he'll be good enough to land me in an artist position. The want to be an artist for this species is so incredibly massive that it could over-inflate a black hole.

The timer is almost completely correct. Maybe shave off 20-30 minutes and that'll be the real time. The lines for the design and coloring in those lines (For two entirely separate layers, too) took, oh, maybe a bit over four hours. Then coloring in the design the actual color I wanted it took another hour or so. Then, of course, I needed to get the actual color of the Bernikesaur {the green you see} behind the design n' all. So happy I thought ahead and put the design lines and the design color on two separate layers... otherwise I never would have managed. I decided to try some line edits here, so I changed up the head horns and spikes and added in a tail blade.

I am really, really, really proud of this guy. I hope that you like him too ^^ If I was chosen as an artist, however, it's unlikely that I'd do designs as complex as this guy very frequently, and probably only for special Bernikesaurs, like perhaps seasonal or holiday designs. I would rather consider this as a show of what I'm capable of doing if left to my computer for multiple hours c:

By the way, I scooted your signature off to the side rather than keep it on the leg. There would be no way that you could see it otherwise xD I hope that's okay D:

Wow, this is really impressive! Definitely looks like it took a while, I don't think I'd have the patience :3
I don't really have any critique, looks great!

I love it! Though I like the blue one a bit more... But maybe that's just because I love blue. And hate orange. It's the opposite of blue, after all.

I see the difference in the horns now. Looks great, I didn't even notice the line change!
One thing I might mention is simply the color and pattern of the spikes. Although of course most dinos aren't exactly realistically patterned or colored, the spotty texture of the horns make me think the horns are bumpy ;)

Thank you, Penultima ^^

So, would you suggest simply smoothing it out and instead of the spots just having a flat color? In all honesty, I wasn't meaning to make a texture; I just thought of it as coloration xD
