Little, hybrid snake drawn in my "Grumpy Chameleon" style.
There are beliefs (in addition to the year's sign) that one would have a mix of characteristics depending how close one's birth date is to the conjoining year. This means Snake-sign people born in the beginning months of the Chinese calender would have a mix of Snake and Dragon traits. The ending months bring about the same ratio with Snake and Horse. Following this logic, the middle of the year have people with all-Snake attributes.
I have read several sources talking about the Chinese zodiac and what the signs mean. Most of them I found traits of the Snake that didn't fit me. Doesn't really mean anything. Besides, no-ones perfect, right? When I read about this "hybrid" system, I discovered some Horse traits filled in where the Snake mismatched. I couldn't help, but giggle.
