General Rules
✰Please treat everyone with respect.
If we see fighting/arguing, or any aggressive comments, you will receive a warning.
✰Currently, there is no limit to how many Tai you may own.
However, it is very likely there will be one in the future.
✰You may not sell your Tai for any type of currency.
✰Do not ask for a custom Taiser to be made for you.
Staff can have two customs, and rarely I will auction off the chance for your own custom.
✰Taisers will rarely have different features, such as mane edits.
Do not ask for them. There may be events in the future for with prizes to edit these things.
✰You may add small accessories (bracelets etc.) to your Tais.
Larger things need to be approved by me first.
✰After three warnings, you will be banned from Taiser Adopts.
If you are banned, you surrender any Tai you own back to us, and they will be re-homed.
✰Taisers cannot be fursonas or pets.
This is because they form 'bonds' with their 'owner'. They are companions, not pets.
✰For a Tai to be re-adopted/gifted, you must get my approval.
✰These rules may change at any time with or without notice.
It is very unlikely I will not make an announcement when there are major rule changes.

Taisers are an odd species first discovered in the ruins of a post-apocalyptic city on a dead planet during one of the first space expeditions. Taisers, or Tai, have very long, spindly looking legs. They have long tails about as long as the tip of their nose to their haunches, ending in a large poof of fur. The age of an adult Taiser can be usually be determined by their cheek fur, as it continues to grow their entire life. They communicate with soft 'pip' and 'bwiping' noises, and shrill squeaks when frightened. They are also slightly telepathic, able to let their feelings and rarely flashes of color or very blurred images seep into the minds of those in close vicinity.

Cheek Fur

A Taiser's age can typically be determined by the length and size of their cheek fur. It will continue to grow their entire lifes. A young Taiser, just out of their 'teen' years, will have short cheek fur, just barely extending out. When A Tai reaches full maturity and adult hood, their cheek fur will often cover part of their ears, but not extend past their mane. This is also when the fur will begin to curl up on some Tai. When a Taiser is past the midpoint in their lives, the fur of their cheeks will have often grown past their manes, and is often curled. The lifespan of a Tai is roughly 55-60 human passes (years), with the oldest known being around 73. A Tai is considered a Puy (kit) until it reaches 2 passes of age. After that it is referred to as a Citer (teen) until it reaches roughly 11 passes. After growing out of the citer phase, a Tai will be regarded as an adult and will usually leave home within the current pass.
It is possible for a Tai to be born without cheek fur, however it is a very rare mutation. This typically will only be possible if a Tai is stunted, and even then it is still rare.

Life of Tai
Many of the Taiser species live in small communities amongst the empty, ruined cities. They often take shelter in any buildings still slightly intact from the violent storms their planet is known to have. Some Tai also live in the strange forests, though even then they like to live on the edge close to the cities. If a Tai chooses not to live in a community, they will typically choose a home that is close to other Tai so they can visit them easily. Tai are typically very social creatures, taking great enjoyment in being able to easily share their feelings through their slight telepathy.Tai are typically easy going with one another, greatly disliking confrontations.
Tai are omnivores, most of them having a biased taste for easily found Lolor berries. Despite their omnivorous status, many Tai dislike the taste of most meats and will only eat them when food is scarce. A few Tai from a community will often accompany loners when they go out for food. This is often for company, however also for safety in case the loner Tai finds itself in any trouble. In times when food is plentiful, Taisers like to gather together with other communities and have a sort of feast.
It is possible for some Taisers to be born where they will be 'stunted'. A stunted Tai will never fully mature, never growing past the citer stage. A Tai will also rarely stop growing at the puy stage of their life, though this is much rarer. Being stunted does not happen very often, however it is not necessarily a rare mutation. Most stunted Taiser babies are born in city ruins than the babies born closer to forest.


Bonding
After the discovery of the species, it was common to see them accompanying humans. Some people began to notice strange things around Taisers that they spent much of their time with. It was soon learned that they had formed an odd sort of 'bond' with a Tai. This special connection is formed when a creature is very attached to their Tai, spending most of their time together. A Tai will only form a bond with a creature/human that regards the Tai as an equal. Both parties will have a very high emotional attachment to each other. When a Tai and a creature/human is bonded, they will often be on the same wavelength in terms of thought. There is a boost to the Tai's ability to communicate telepathically with their bonded partner, able to share clearer pictures and even partake in slight conversation. A Tai will also form a different type of bond with their mate, but the bond of a Tai and their companion takes precedence over that of their mate. (It is possible for a Taiser's companion to also be their mate, though this is pretty rare.) Taiser's will usually only form one of these bonds in their life, though it is possible for them to form more. This can be difficult, and even damaging for a Tai. With the more bonds a Tai has, the more of a load their brain has to take on. Typically at three bonds (including their mate bond), a Tai's brain will begin to feel overload and might cause them a lot of stress. More than three bonds will cause a Tai to begin losing their mind, and some have even turned feral, fleeing deep into the forests.
It is possible for a Tai's bond with their companion to break. When this happens, a Tai will take a few months to fully recover. The loss of that bond will often cause both creatures in the bond to feel depressed and weak after their bond breaks. It is very, very rare for a bonded pair to have their bond break.
*This type of bond is completely platonic. It is a higher form of friendship between the Tai and their companion.*



Mates
A Tai will mate only ever have one mate. They spend a long time courting and seeking out their perfect mate. When two Tai have realized they are the perfect match, they will form a mateship bond. A Taiser will never leave their mate, which is why they spend so long courting. After creating a mateship bond, if the pair is in a community, they will usually have a small celebration for the new couple, as they regard the choosing of a mate to be a very special occasion. The couple will only ever have three litters. Most Tai will have one puy per litter, though it is possible, and very rare, for them to have up to four. A stunted Tai is not able to reproduce nor form a true mateship bond.
