Kai is one of the oldest of the Dire family. He has two cousins, Vecoure and Rrhoz, an older brother, two younger twin brothers, and a younger sister.

He has no skin pigmentation and his eyes are severely malformed, lacking both irises and pupils. It is assumed by scientists that his eyes also lack some of their normal internal structures as well. He is blind.
