How He Got His Scars?

"How I got my scars you ask? Hmm...well you seem worthy enough to tell my tale too..." the great golden tiger growls out, eying the female sitting in front of him.
"It was from your kind but larger and more rough in looks then you. I..." the tigers eyes narrowed into a glare at the memory.
"I lost everything that day to your kind. I lost my home as well as my mate. All because a group of your kind stormed into my lands to kill us all for no given reason and if that was not enough, they stole my lands. I tried to fight them back but as you can see from my scars I had failed." the tiger starts to pace around the girl, mouth curled into a snarl.
"So tell me...why should I not just silence you right now?" he brings his face closer to hers.
The girl just touches the tigers cheek and softly says "Because the path to happiness must start with forgiveness."
The tiger silently stares at her for a moment then backs away but inside his mind her words rang over and over.
