The snow falls all around you, tickling you and spinning your hair. Your heart aches for someone far away.
When you lean closer to the pond, though, there seems to be a pure white caterpillar gently floating on the surface, looking up at the faraway moon.
You hear the smallest, sweetest song coming from the caterpillar, but you are not afraid.
Not surprised.
Instead, lulled by the soft melody, you feel peaceful.
Here is the song he sings.
"My darling
I've been gone for so long
Even though I feel so far away
even if the frost berries are gone
I wish we'll never be apart
The miles between us
don't do a thing
because when you smile down at me
the tears in my eyes
don't tell me the difference
between the stars and the snow
The winter in my heart
needs a loving soul
The frost in my eyes
needs your wonder
every night I lie awake
dream of your skies
I'll never be away from you
I promise
I'll always sing my songs to you
I promise
even though they say it's worthless
to love from so far away
my heart will never be
alone."
*realization*
I just made a love story between a caterpillar (which happens to be my favorite advent pet so far)
and the moon.
