[[YOU ARE IN THE PERSPECTIVE OF: Ellie]]
The memory of the night sparks in my head, but only for a second before it flees my mind. And I hadn't caught much, just splatters of color. I close my eyes and tilt my head back, trying to recall any scrap of the night, not knowing what's on the line here if I cant remember. Come on Ellie, I mentally prompt myself, you can do this! dig deep!
With a heavy sigh, Sam cuts his eyes around the group again, then settles them on me once more, "Ellie?" He asks, eyeing me in a way that makes me want to squirm--feeling awkward. "You do know what they look like, right?" A hint of worry hangs in his voice, as if he knows what the risk is if I don't remember.
"Well, I remember the colors..." I begin, squeezing an eye closed in concentration. "Like... there were three orbs and--"
"What did they look like?" Louie cuts in fiercely, taking a step towards me.
It takes all my strength to not flinch back; every muscle in my body tensing and wanting to tug away. but I stand stiff, trying to swim my way through my memory, "I dunno, just orbs... floating with tentacles... and they glowed colors--magenta, green, and red-- Oh!" I snap my fingers in defiance, recalling another portion of the dream, "The magenta orb, or, person maybe? I think I had two dreams, I'm getting the two confused..." I pause to shake my head, then restart.
"Anyway, these people said stuff about the government and how it 'shadows' us or something; watching us,"--I wave my hands around, gesturing at things as I speak--"through music, thought-mail, dinosaur old technology from the twenty-first century, and even transit bands." I let out a huff, relieved I had recalled something seemingly useful, then reach to my wrist to turn my transit-band, but feel only the lumpy jacket sleeve.
"Wait!" I yelp, tugging up my sleeve to reveal my bare arm with a few things encoded on it, "My band! Where's my band!" I look up at the others, my eyes wide and theirs a bit weary. they all exchange glances, "Where!" I probe again, louder this time.
