All the complicated details
of the attiring and
the disattiring are completed!
A liquid moon
moves gently among
the long branches.
Thus having prepared their buds
against a sure winter
the wise trees
stand sleeping in the cold.
- The cold winter wind pressed against my chest as I traveled in the snow. So cold, so hungry, I wondered when my journey would end. Snow and wind stung my eyes as it blew in my face, I could no longer see what was ahead. Every tree began to look the same, and I started to feel that I had already passes one tree before. Soon my feet felt like lead bricks, and I could travel no more. I sank to me knees in the snow, ready to give in to winters grasp.
"Dear Lord..." I whispered, praying while staring at the snow around me. I was tired, so very tired. I felt that I was in a pit and couldn't get out. All I wanted to do was close my eyes and never open them again. But a small part of me wanted to keep going, to see the reward ahead. When you can't sink anymore, the only way to look is up. "Let me pass though this forest."
I closed my eyes, felling the cold snow on my face and ready to fall asleep where I sat. Then, there was a sudden change in the air. The snow lightened and beams of light began to shine through the tree branches. I opened my eyes to see what was going on around me, to see if I could see the distance better yet or not. I could! I saw a small icy pond just a few feet in front of me, and near that, a pile on of boulders. On top of these boulders was a single creature - a white fox. She stood there in silence, watching me.
"Will you show me the way out?" I asked, breathless and still tired to the bone. The vixen did not reply, but simply too a few steps aside. Behind her was a small trail that she had made though the snow, leading out of the forest. She was the guardian of this forest, she knew the way out. With what little energy I had left, I stood up and took her path. The fox did not move, but only watched as I walked the path she showed me. "Thank you." I said to the fox, feeling, somehow, that I was on my way back home now.

Went a we bit lazy on my background, but I'm so happy with how it turned out. Last year I made This picture, and started wondering what it would be like now. Not the same canine as in the old picture, but the same forest. Comments are very much welcomed! c:
