You may call it his "imaginary friend", but it's more than imaginary. It's real. These creatures are spirits of dreams. They are guardians who watch over children at night, fighting nightmares and the children's fears so that they may sleep peacefully. In fact, these creatures feed off of it. If a child is scared of the dark, the Musoka will light up the night with it's dim lighted orbs and absorb in the scary darkness. These creatures are only seen by the children, and not their parents or other adults. That is why the adults may say: "Oh, she's just talking to her imaginary friend again". The Musoka will usually stay with one child until they grow up, then the creature will fade from sight from that person and will move on to another child.

They resemble dragons with a large puffy tail and orbs wrapped around it's muzzle with string. Musoka may appear to children as large as Great Danes, or as small as Beagles. Musoka have many different horns and accessories (Sometimes none at all!), but will always have orbs attached to string. The orbs hold a Musoka's power, and if it is lost, the Musoka will die. Musoka and the children they watch over are as close as peas in a pod. The Musoka will have a special bond with that child and grow close until the child turns into adult. Colors vary from creature to creature, and does not show specific gender.

"Felswer! Help!" No use. My screams were drowned out by his own, ear piercing screams. The night mere's were attacking him, right in front of me. We were in the forest camping, and i had fallen asleep. Then, they attacked. They floated around him, throwing punches and kicks, shooting fear into him. Then, a larger one appeared in a flash of smoke and dark red light. When it was fully there, it floated inside of Felswer. He screamed, light emitting from him, until the nightmares dissipated and he was left laying on the floor, green goo seeping from his mouth.

S t o r y ( how this Musoka became tainted)

I never knew that I would be corrupeted when started on the first day of my new assignment, protecting a young girl named Tuesday Marie Hope who was suffering from severe nightmares that featured a dark being and her previous protector. Her previous Musoka had vanished, leaving no trace within the society or in Tuesday's memories; traces of his memory only seen within her waking nightmares. On the first night of duty, everything seemed fine, with no anomalies or disturbances besides from the occasional fearful thoughts that all young children have. This pattern continued for weeks until I noticed a strange shadow that had glowing green eyes. It seemed to hang about Tuesday's bed and closet the most often, and when I noticed it I chased it away with my light. I didn't see it during the day at the time, and Tuesday and I were very separate, with her only talking to me when she had to.

It began appear for days at a time, haunting Tuesday even within her waking hours. Sometimes it wouldn't appear for days at a time, or even weeks. Most days and nights it would just watch. Sometimes it would creep closer and closer until it seemly shied away like youngling playing a game of "how close can you get".

Tuesday never liked it, and always hid behind me whenever it was around when she was awake. I was surprised that she could see it, but eventually got used to that fact. We grew close, and she confided in me all of her fears hopes and dreams.

It started coming to the room more frequently, until I couldn't leave Tuesdays' side for a single moment. It also started wandering the house, and discovered Tuesday's teen sister. Soon after, I was hearing reports that a Musoka had been assigned to her, a very strange incident indeed. The Musoka was soon taken back off duty when the older girl bullheadedly refused to believe in the nightmares given to her by the shadow, and broke from it's influence on her own.

Months after I had first started, the creature of shadow crept up on me suddenly and wrapped hold of my paws with strange tendrils of darkness that I couldn't break free from. Tuesday was asleep, and didn't wake up as I struggled with the shadow, the nightmare acid covering it's skin seeping through my fur and burning me. I struggled with it, but couldn't claw it as per regulations.

I broke the cords of my muzzle string in order to bite the creature, in hope that I could drive it away forever or kill it. When the strings of my orbs broke, something inside me broke as well. I became violent, and bit the shadow being until It dissolved in my jaws.

I stood panting over the puddle of goo, my limbs so very tired. Then it dawned one me. I had broken my cord. Willingly. Oh gods. I hurriedly picked up my orbs with my mouth, their light gone from their glassy surfaces. Disgusted with what I was about to do, I swallowed the gems, their burning energy searing through my body as they went down. At least I wouldn't die now from orb loss. But what else could happen? I shook the thought away with a flick of my head.

With the tiredness still within my limbs, I padded closer to the slime puddle that used to be the shadow. Curious, I dabbed it with a paw, a strange feeling starting to well up withing me. I felt something round under my paw, and rolled it out of the slime.

It was a Musoka orb, it's light gone and energy banished. The shadow must have been the previous protector of Tuesday.
And now I was unfit for service. I could feel my eyes and mouth burning, and a green acid started floating out of my mouth in a green mist, a acid that burned just as bad as the shadow-musoka's acid.

I became scared. What if Tuesday saw me? How would she react to my new appearance? I had to vanish. It was with a heavy heart that I left her room that night.

Tuesday has a new protector now, one who is ever so much more cautious and skilled than I was. I still visit the sweet girl from time to time, when I still have control of my body. She just turned nine this year...

Soon darkness will envelop the last little bit of me that is left, and I will be no better than the shadow being that I fought off all those years ago. And there is nothing I can do to stop it.
