"Time can change so much..."
- Caffeine laid on a old grey stone and reflected on how time has past. She breathed in the crisp air of dawn and felt the cold stone beneath her fur, and closed her eyes in thought. She wished nothing had changed, she wished it was still the same as when she was a pup. This used to be her home, this used to be the place where she and her siblings played, where she spent time with her parents. No bad memories here. It was always her safe haven.
But now, things where different. She knew it, even the air smelled different then she remembered it. Her siblings and family were gone, all had crossed the bridge years before. The old den caved in and she could no longer find where it was, the fallen tree she would climb on as a pup had rotted away, and the long Wisteria vines no longer grew in the trees. It was autumn now and the the leaves where in full color.
"Why do things have to change so much?" She asked the wind as it blew at her neck. Both she and it had no answer, all she could do it watch the forest, and see faded vision of her puphood.

I guess this can be considered as re-do art and fun art because I was in the mood for autumn stuff.
On September 17th of last year. I made this picture, it was my first real background picture. It was the place where Caffeine grew up, where the story I made of her started. This is a picture of her home now, a year (plus three days) for us and years later for her. Things change in time, and when it comes to change in your home, where you grew up at, it can hurt. I know.
And, ehehe, I just discovered how AWESOME the pen tool can be for color. And for backgrounds. And basically for everything....
I used to use pencil for coloring and background because derp me didn't know that you could drag the circle on the pen tool to get back to size 2 for whatever on pen. I love pen now, it gives so much more depth and softness then what I tend to normally use. I also tried the pen soft edge brush setting for the first time, mainly for the tree leaves, and I am hooked.
Trying a slightly different style (moar blobs bby!) and I love it, and trust me when I say this...It's much easier then what I am used to doing. I went all messy on the shadows, I'm not sorry. I added a ton of quick ugly looking grass to patch up some of the more crappy looking places, plus I didn't want the floor just to be...empty. Don't like empty.
I missed drawing Caffeine, she'll be in a new comic based on her story, The Drafted.
Comments are very much welcomed! Just ignore the fact that there is no reflective lighting on the rock and trees....I kinda forgot that, It'll be added later. Also, new signature on the picture, same as the old one but different swirly design under it. c:
