What is a Mutato?

In a rapidly changing world of rapidly accumulating toxic waste, Mutatoes take to the sky.
These creatures, affectionately dubbed Mutatoes, are a sad combination of an unknown creature, radioactive material, and a potato.
They live in the sky and consume UV radiation. They are the new era of Super Man.

At birth Mutatoes are about the size of a potato and can grow to around the size of a basketball.
Generally they are busy creatures who would prefer flying to being carried.
The Mutato is filled with the same kind of gases that its tail is made of.
These gases are currently unidentified, but are lighter than air- enabling them to fly.
They can stay in the air for a maximum of 20 hours straight before they need to land and "rest".
Though, when they can't be in the air, Mutatoes pace... a lot.

What this guy reminds me of

As soon as I saw him I noticed the bottom design and the first thing that came to mind was the inside of a flower, the very centre. Where all the pollen is.

I love Photography, Especially close up photography (stuff like taking pictures of that part of the flower) and I can just imagine that being an amazing photo showing the delicate petals and the Pollen flying around inside encased in the flower like a cave

Then the swirl in the top design reminds me of the Stem of the flower and the lines on top reminds me of the grass that could be surrounding the flower. So both of the designs fit together perfectly.

+What does this mutato remind you of?: The top half reminds me of one of my most favorite things in the world - Monster energy drinks! The green slashes kind of look like the logo, except sideways, and the colors fit. It also reminds me of my favorite soda, Mountain Dew. The bottom half also reminds me of soda; all fizzy c: It also reminds me of radioactivity, with the colors and the popping and fizzing. I am all about everything nuclear/wasteland XD Also it reminds me of space, yet another love of mine o3o

Satus Tellure means 'Start of Earth', and I also think it suits him.
+What does this mutato remind you of?
It may seem odd, but whenever I see this Mutato I see the Start of Earth-The start of Life as we know it. The background in the body panel makes me think of murky water, the bright lights being life-Microbes.

Meanwhile, the top panel makes me think of a different form of life-Plants. Leaves, trees, you name it.

Daear is the name of a lake, wich took part in one of my favorite books.
+What does this mutato remind you of? The connections can be as strange, vague, and interesting as you'd like, but I need to understand how you connected the two
The mutato reminds me of a lake or something like that. A Lake, wich dissapears at dawn and returns at nightfall. All colors around the lake are green or earth tones and, if you are very quiet, the fireflys are dancing above your head. It reminds me of the soft surging waves on the shore. It is confusing, waves on the lake? But i like it.

Well, it goes in with what he reminds me of. Treasure Planet.
+What does this mutato remind you of?
He reminds me of the Treasure Planet, or what it looked like after the years of neglect. The plants growing on it, the starry sky, and the swirling galaxies the group came across while they were searching for the planet. How the map activates also reminds me of the colors.
