This is my new species, the Akhal Teke's.

Some information about them:
They are based on the horse breed, the Akhal Teke's, but are a bit different anyhow. The wild ones here are quite smaller than the domestic ones, very slender and fragil but fast, fierce and robust at the other hand. A wild Akhal will also have a very short mane, standing upright on their long and svan-like neck, and an also very short tail by nature. The small hooves make them able to climb very well and fast but also allows them to run so fast, you'd only see a blurr. That's why you seldomly catch a look at these graceful creatures.

A wild Akhal will not come near any human unless he makes friend with him or her... you an not break or tame them, though, they will decide which human is worth a friendship and will only then accept a gift from the human, usually a neck band. They'll keep on living free in any case but will hear the faintest cry or whistle to make them run to their friend. Humans may ride them but only whitout bridle and saddle...They are to bid to go where you want to go, not to force them at your way![/center]

What I'm looking for in your entries:
- neatness: use the provided colour layer and the "lock alpha" gear, please!
- creativity: no plain and boring designs! please think through your idea before you start!!
- skill: I'm in need for experienced artists. beginners with great talent are still wellcome, of course!! =)
- colouring idea: I'm not sure yet, what coat pattern is usual for this species and for that I need your help! Please think of a special pattern, which will be used (in varieties) on all individuals of this species. You don't have to use the brindle like in the title pic (you may though... but don't make it a copy of the WME's!!). Be creative and turn crazy!!
- colour sheme: basically it shall look very natural, so no unnatural colours like blues, pinks, neons and so on. But you may think of colours which you can find in other animals than horses, or of completely new patterns (in natural colours) like runes or native amarican ornaments

- no whining, complaining or being rude to any other participant or against the judgement (me ^^)
- no copiyng others art!! this contains all sort of stealing someone elses colouring idea from other species AND from other participants! I will notice!
- no minni modding, please!
- two entries per person, only!
- no unnatural colour!
- no line edits
- don't claim these as your own
- please bump the topic when you're entering

okay, I think I've seen enough colouring ideas....
I made my decision on what idea I'd like to use for my species....
but this does not mean, that I will end the contest yet!

There will be another three weeks from now giving some specific artists the chance to show me what they will make out of the ideas I want to use....
top five ideas I'd like to use:

- marbling (I'm totally in love with this one ^^)
- dun markings on the back of the horse
- metallic sheen on base coat
- striped tail and chest marking
- reversed dappling like a giraffes net

if any of the contestants which came up with these ideas does NOT want me to use their idea, please contact me at an instant!

soooo I do not want them all in one horse, though I want them combined....
I came up with the following colouring rules (maybe changing that after I saw what you guys did ^^):
- dun markings in different sizes on horses without marbling (veryy very rare!!), very rarely non dun horses
- nearly all horses with marbling (on different body parts in different sizes) but commonly building a chest mark;; in very rare cases, the marbling could grow into a pattern looking like a giraffes net (like reversed dappling)
- a striped tail in all of the horses
- base coat is allways a metallic colour

so for a start, I want you to design a marbled horse, because I want to see if every artist I'm intrested in would be able to do them =)
you can come up with your own marbling pattern, I don't care if multicoloured or only one colour used, if thick or thin lines, if darker than the base coat or brighter.... I want to have some different marbling patterns to get a greater variety on the species
