If the back is leather, then it would be hardened leather, which even though its leather dose NOT flex or move. Leather alone is not strong enough to withstand the biting force of a Kronador. I use Hardened leather armor in the SCA and believe me, it dose not move unless forcibly bent. Also needs a bit more protection around the ribs.
