Yep! There are two types of Japanese (in particular) alphabets, and this is the second one. I believe it is also used in... China..? I'm studying Japanese, so this is kind of an interest drawing. xD

also, not to be weird...but it actually means more along the lines of scribbles or sketches than drawings or a finished work (just saying O.O), and it actually has the meaning of Oekaki in the Q&A part of Chickensmoothie (I think). It's awesome how much you know about the language, though! I can't read Higana very well xD but (Katakana is fairly easy for me though)
