She has always loved the stars & everything to do with space, one night she was studying a pattern of meteror showers when she discovered that one would happen later that evening it only happened every hundred years, later that night she went out & discovered her theory was correct, as she watched them she notice her flank began to glow it soon faded but left her cutie mark (:

Starlight Shimmer, but her nick-name is Astrid, if that's okay, I decided this because I liked the name Astrid, which I only noticed was there after I had posted, but I liked Starlight Shimmer, the name I had made up, as well.

How she got her CM:
One day, she was watching the sky, as she liked to do, and then, out of no where there was a meteor shower, her eyes sparkled in interest and then and there decided to start studying the stars and meteors, and she got her cutie mark then.

Crush:
She thinks love is ridiculous and is to busy with astronomy anyways.
