What Is Serenity Shelter?
Serenity is a dog rescue. We rescue dogs of all kinds and rehabilitate them to be able to be adopted. Not all dogs have a nice past, such as just being given up to the shelter because their owners couldn't afford to care for them. Some are abandoned. Some were left for dead. But each one is special, and each one is full of love and ready to share it. We give the dogs the best care we can provide, but nothing beats a home that they can call their own. So are you ready to adopt?
A dog based on my yorkie with only three legs as well<3
- -This sweet lapdog lived with a good family for a while before the father realized he was allergic to the dog's fur and was forced to give him up. They gave him to Serenity Shelter in hopes of giving the dog a better home. His only disability seems to be the loss of his right leg, but this fella has no difficulty hopping around to wherever he needs to go. For the most part this boy is pretty much calm and easy-going and we're hopeful that he'll be adopted real soon!

To adopt this cavapoo you need to draw no more than two pictures of him(or order art), however you see fit.
End Date: judging now!

Name- His past owner called him "Spokes" -a joke referencing to his missing leg, as in the "spokes" of a wheel- but he was later adopted by a girl who has taken to calling the Cavapoo "Askew." Askew has never failed to bring out that wonderful smile by lobsidedly trotting to the girl's side. Askew answers to both names, but feels his heart clench tightly at the sound of his past owner's voice. He and the boy had had a special bond, so it's been hard for him to feel the same unconditional love with Riley.
Personality- Askew is faithful while also being naturally adaptive, so in contrast, he's never the same dog he was the day before. He's is always on the move, looking for new ways to challenge himself. Though he misses his old human desperately, Askew has decided to give this girl a good chance. She was hand-picked by the boy's father because of her own disabilities- an amputated leg resulting from a recent car crash, that more than anything cost her her mother. She has had to deal with the obnoxious taunts about her father's new "housewife"-ish characteristics as he himself battles a full-time office job, Riley's medical expenses, and the traumatizing death of his soulmate.
Askew has absolutely incredible mental and emotional endurance. He has come to realize how fortunate he really is in life, and is constantly surrounded by those who never stood a chance from birth- unlike himself, who had the choice to fight. The girl is constantly active in everything to do with service work and volunteering, from soup kitchens to 3rd world missions. She is more often than not forced to leave Askew behind, but on her local community trips, he learns a lot from Riley about perseverance and an open mind.
Aiden, Julie, and Riley are special friends. Through these three, Askew has come to know Hero, Notch, and Train, and Tur tle and Shoal. He's become a close and connected friend among them, and spends a lot his time with Riley at Julie's house. He doesn't quite understand why, but walking through the surrounding secluded forests with this huge and mishaveled group begins to paint a vivid picture of what "unconditional love" implies.

When he sits or stands, his front leg is often positioned "askew"-ly to compensate for the balance and weight that would have otherwise been evenly distributed. My tablet wasn't working for most of the week and I'll be out of town until Monday, so... gosh. I'll take my leave now.
And happy early birthday! :3
