SilverDawn's story
prolouge
every dog has it's day, the old saying goes. But what about cats? And squirrels? And butterflies? Aren't they alive as well? My name is SilverDawn, my friends call me silver. I go to Flutterby elementary, on an island of a forgotten species. We are called Fayene, we live just as humans do, but for some reason they do not accept us.
We are a dying breed.
but you(being a human) probably don't want to hear about that, this story is about me and Warren Rea(ree-ay), my crush
part one
before we begin, a little about school and Warren, our school serves nice lunches(we have a dessert bar) and the teachers are very kind and fair, the janitor, Tarus, is the one you want to watch out for. We have a few bullies, the worst one is Jack Bowsworth, a 6 ft 9 inch high pile of menace, with a cougar. but luckily, he is in the 9th grade and I'm in 7th.
Warren Rea is Lynx, tall and skinny with golden eyes. he is in the 8th grade but he sits with my group, with me are: Hikari(a fishing cat), Cinder(smoky gray, no idea what type she is), Leaf(our "leader", a light colored tabby) and SeaLion(lion). sometimes NixibNeb(a tuxedo) joins us.
The school dance was coming up, Hikari didn't want to invite anyone and Cinder decided to go with NixibNeb as friends, I wanted to go with Warren but he was a year up and I didn't know if he would agree or not, besides, it was boy's choice(rrgh)
"you gotta get someone! you don't get to dance if you go alone!" Cinder told me "it's the boys who gotta ask the girls" I reminded her
''and for the last time, I don't want to go with sealion" she had told me that she could sealion to go with me, "I think he'd prefer Leaf" "oh all right" she sighed, I was the only one who hadn't gotten someone to go with yet, except for Hikari who didn't want to go at all.
"you know what?" Cinder asked me after a pause "I'll ask Warren to go with you!" I jerked up "no!" I protested
"why not? he's funny and nice and he laughs at your jokes" I pondered what to say for a minute then "It would seem wimpy, you asking him to go with me, and you seem to be forgetting that it's boys who are supposed to ask"
"you like him, a lot" she stated
"no!"
"me thinks the lady doth protest too much"
"stop it!"
"Silver and Warren sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G! first comes-"
"I said stop it!"
she obeyed
a long awkward pause stretched out between us
"I really want to get to that dance" I admitted "but let me deal with this"
"OK" she replied
then we went to bed.
I had a dream, a strange dream, I was at the dance, without a date, then a chant lead by Jack started up "silly silver sits alone, no one here to take her home" then Warren jumped in and then we were alone, he got closer, closer and then... "Wake up! hurry or we'll be late! come on!" someone shouted at me, I pushed my head under my pillow, trying to get back to my dream. Then someone bounced on me "wh-wha- whaaat?" I groaned "finally!" said Cinder "get up! we'll be late!" "for what? it's Saatuurdaay"
''we have to get dresses for the dance" she replied "now get UP!" I obeyed, got ready and wolfed down a sandwhitch and a glass of orange juice "ur onna ake ee shoke!" I gurgled "what?" she asked "You're going to make me choke!" I repeated.
Silvsturus's dress shop is actually a nice place to go, with a load of dresses and accessories that are beutiful and cheap "what do you think about this one?" Cinder asked, coming out of a changing room with a gold sleeveless full-length dress "it's perfect" I replied "hold on a mo' " I told he, then I disappeared behind a door and put on my dress
"what about this?" I asked, wearing a sparkly blue dress with a t-shirt-like top "suits you, now lets find shoes" she told me "um, this is a bad time to ask, but who's paying for this?" I asked "dad" she said simply, I understood, her dad was filthy rich.
"I need to talk to you, meet me by the pool at 4 pm. Come alone" said the note, I had found it in my locker
I showed it to Cinder and Hikari "you should do what it says" Cinder told me "but what if it's from Jack?" asked Hikari "no, he can't do cursive" said Cinder, we laughed "lamest joke of the century" muttered Hikari after we had calmed down.
I decided to go, after all, what was there to lose? I had a crazy feeble hope that it was Warren, but he was too awesome for that, and for me I thought
Of course, i was shocked to see it was him "Warren?" I asked, my heart doing a loop-the-loop "it was you?"
"nooo I'm an alien imposter from mars" he said "and I'm Eleanor Roosevelt, come on, I know it's you" I replied
"wellll, were you planning on going to the dance? I heard that you might have to go alone" "who tipped you off?!?" as soon as the words left my mouth, I knew the answer "that traitor!" I exclaimed, he put a soothing hand on my shoulder "no, I've been reading your mind" he told me "riiight, what am I thinking right now? Mr.Magic-and-mystery" "actually, I've been observing you"
"a spy!" "nope" he assured me "just observing, anyway the reason you're here; I was wondering if you'd like to go to the dance with me? as friends?" his golden eyes melted my heart "only if you hire a limo" I told him "and wear a solid gold tux" I teased "of course I'll go with you"

when we got there Cinder gave me an "I-told-you-so" look and texted me the same
Warren could dance, together we made all the girls envious and the boys murderous
then the dance turned into a walk as we exited the building
Warren took me to a secluded corner and we just chatted, then he got really close(making sure I had a 1000 mph heartbeat) and whispered in my ear "Silver?" he asked "yes?" "you're amazing" then he kissed me
