Oh, so you're interested to know about this cute little guy? Well, you've come to the right place. This sanctuary houses a rare hybrid creature, created by scientists to deplete certain, other hybrid populations. The Bastlilio, is as simple as it seems. A bat and a deer mainly, with other traits inside their genetic structure. The Bastilio is around the size of a young cat. It can perch on it's owners shoulders, and it very cuddly and affectionate. Bastilios are loyal and rather social, like deer. They stick close to each other for comfort, and are often found in small groups, curled in a burrow.


Now that you understand their behavior basics, let's get to their genetic basics. Bastilios come in calicoes, tabbies, fawn-markings, lynx points, and other markings. Sometimes, markings are put into them from birth, and become more like tattoos, permanent tattoos. Bastilios also enjoy shiny objects, and will decorate themselves feverishly with them, and sometimes squabble over a shiny pebble, or stolen watch.

As known by most people, bats sleep upside down. This is partially true for this species. They can sleep normally on the ground, or perch upside down, using their specifically bred feet to clamp down onto whatever they need to stay hanging from it's resting spot. One more fact is that Bastilios drink nectar, blood, eat fruits, and meat. They sometimes will snack on grass if they are hungry enough, but not if they can avoid it. They absolutely love sweet foods, and go crazy with candies, so don't feed them too many or they might go into a hysteria and pass out. They have done it in the past....
