This drawing turned into something very different than I originally had planned. o.O

I have been studying quite a bit about the plight of the Native Americans, and it always saddens me to read through their experiences. Thus, this drawing is somewhat symbolic of the experience of the Native Americans, and what it must have felt like for them to have their lands seized, and their culture forcibly changed. Sorry... I just had to get this one out. XD

So ya... if you can't tell the stuff on the wall is Native American wall art... and darkness is closing in on the gryphon (the Native American), while he is slowly losing his feathers. It's quite sad really... this is definitely the most depressing picture I have ever created!

The main point of this drawing however was to practice a style I may use for commissions later... so tada!

I know what you mean. >_< I always feel like such a complete butt when I think about it, because I'm European and I live in America... The whole thing has been kind of swept under the rug as an embarrassment to the pride of our nation, and it stinks. And I love the picture. :3

Ya, I'm the same way... my ancestors were the ones who pushed the Native Americans out of their homelands. It was definitely swept under the rug, and still is to some extent, however, I feel like finally the bravery and heroism of the Native American is being more fully appreciated. I recently went to the Crazy Horse Monument which isn't yet completed, but it was a very neat experience. I'm glad you like it! ^^

ya my parents were tempted to send me to a school to teach me how to speak Native if we went back to NewFoundLand. its odd i never call it newfoundland always Nefounland Probable Because it isnt Vary New.... we learn about the natives and the war in history but its starting to annoy me because we seem to re learn it every year.... The Tribe im From Is "Mic Mac" and i have never read it in any of the history books.
