What is a Mutato?

In a rapidly changing world of rapidly accumulating toxic waste, Mutatoes take to the sky.
These creatures, affectionately dubbed Mutatoes, are a sad combination of an unknown creature, radioactive material, and a potato.
They live in the sky and consume UV radiation. They are the new era of Super Man.

At birth Mutatoes are about the size of a potato and can grow to around the size of a basketball.
Generally they are busy creatures who would prefer flying to being carried.
The Mutato is filled with the same kind of gases that its tail is made of.
These gases are currently unidentified, but are lighter than air- enabling them to fly.
They can stay in the air for a maximum of 20 hours straight before they need to land and "rest".
Though, when they can't be in the air, Mutatoes pace... a lot.

ｗｈｙ ｔｈｅ ｒｅａｓｏｎ?-
Well, first of all, I am a huge fan of romance novels. Name one, I've read it, most likely. Since I've failed a little bit in the romance category, I like to help others with it instead of helping myself there^.^; But really, I loved the whimsical love-filled feeling of this mutato, as cheesy as it sounds. I worked quite hard on my story, and hope you like it ^^

I held her parting gift close to my chest. It was dusty, dirty, and hurt just to look at, but since she had given it
to me, I knew it must have some sort of important meeting, for it was her parting words for me; I know we shall never see one another again. I reached my destination -a dark, cluttered broom closet-, and turned
on the lights. Then I saw what it was.
A faded, leather-bound copy of William Shakespeare's play, Romeo and Juliet. I hesitantly opened it, reading. I sat there for hours,
Just reading the story until I reached that page.
Someone had taken a yellow highlighter and highlited a patch of dialogue. It cought my eye, so I read on.
“Good night, good night! parting is such sweet sorrow,
That I shall say good night till it be morrow.”

changing waves
drifting tides
always knowing
what's inside
true love runs
far and deep
gentle now,
now into sleep

This Mutato is going to be a female because of the rose, lying on the book. Her name is going to be Kalila.

Reason for Choosing the Name Kalila
Kalila means beloved. I believe this is a good name for this angel because she will be much beloved in my Signature. She is also beloved by whoever sent that rose to her.

Write a Love Poem or Story
From Kalila's point of view...
I knew, as clear as day, that I would NEVER be in love. This is not because the boys don't like me, (Believe me, those idiots are constantly asking me to date them, marry them... You do NOT want to know.) it's because I don't want to "Settle down and raise a family" or anything like that. And I swear, those boys on like me because I look nice. But... My mother just couldn't stop talking about it. "Honey, such a pretty girl like you SHOULD get married. All the young men out there want you. Can't you choose one out of them?" I was always firm and told her, "Mother, you know what I'm like. I won't get married." For awhile, this was true and said wholeheartedly. But I realized, I WAS in love. I had taken a liking to Achilles. He was never part of the mobs of Mutatos that came knocking on my door. He was kinda sweet too. So... One day... I saw him, at the marketplace. I was, a shy Mutato and I was nervous when I approached him. I asked him,"What are you buying?" In a shy voice,"Flowers, for my Grandmother. She is sick and I'm going to visit her." "Oh... I wanted to know... Are you free this... say... Friday?" "Sorry, no." "Then is Sunday okay?" "Yes, why?" "I...I...I want to ask... if... you wanted a... date?" "Yes, of course! there is no need to be so shy. I'm shy too, but I think I have overcome that fear." " Then.. I'll see you at 5 on Sunday? Is the river okay for you?" "Sure! Bye now!" Later during the week, I found out I was constantly sneaking glances at him. I found myself daydreaming about our date. Ooh, I just couldn't wait! Sunday finally came. I nervously scampered to the river side. Would he be there? Would he remember me? I was greatly relieved to find him there, and extremely nervous when I realized he had brought a box of chocolates and a rose along. I tiptoed up behind him. Why not we start this date the fun way?...

Years later, I was happy with my prince in shining armor. We were currently debating whether we should go through the process of birth. I wanted a daughter; he was unsure if he was ready to father a young Mutato.WIP:)
