Through the night
There she flies
Her eyes glowing like a bright spark of light
Where she goes

Her eyes shining as bright as ever
In her little world of freedom

Aurkene the nightlight
Mysterious as she is

Story

The clock struck Midnight. Aurkene waited until it chimed its last chime, found a little gap in the bottle in which she was captured in, and took off. She tried to recall the way those pesky kids had brought her in. Apparently, those kids had never seen a Nightlight before. She shook her head and concentrated hard... now, which way was the front door again? She recalled seeing an open window near the front door. She flew South. Ah.. there it was! The window. But it was shut now. She was desperate for some carrot bits, or any other type of food. Those kids just didn't know how to take care of a Nightlight!

Aurkene stared at the window and tried to find a gap through. It was no use. The window was sealed shut. She tried the front door, but there was this dog sleeping near the door, and Aurkene was afraid she would wake that dog up, waking the kids, alarming them she had escaped. But she was determined - she was going to do everything she could to escape back to where she belonged. So Aurkene quietly fluttered by the front door's gaps, attempting to find a gap that was big enough for her to fit in.. Her inspection of the door showed that the door was only half-shut.. if only she could push the door another centimeter or two...

Suddenly, the Beagle next to the door awoke. Barkingy madly as Aukene had thought he would have, He growled upon seeing Aurkene. With the dog out of the way, Aurkene wasted no time - she pushed the door open--just that 2 cm she needed, and flew out, just before the kids awoke.

Ah! Safe and free at last! Aurkene shook her wings to clear the dust she had gathered being in that bottle. She flew to her previous resting-place, and found the delicious pieces of carrot bits she was going to eat before she got captured. Carefully, she moved to another flower to eat her carrot pieces... Mmmm.. they were sure good!

Cloud rolled over onto her back and stretched out her legs out to their limit and opened her his mouth in a large yawn then leg her body go limp again. For a moment she just lay here on her back then she rolled over again and stood up. She shook her pelt and small bits of moss and dirt flew into the air. Cloud opened her large butterfly wings and looked them over. Finding nothing wrong she folded them again.

Asgre yawned as she awoke. The sun was setting and it would soon be time for her to get up. She stretched her wings, which were bright colored, in the setting sun. Night creeped over the land and her wings grew ever brighter and beautiful. The moon shone brightly, her wings glinted in its light. Asgre stood and shook the pollen off of her. Her yellow patches turned back to their natural color of white. The flower she had been sleeping on was comfortable, it was purple and white. Stretching her wings to their full length, she leaped into the cool night air and began to fly. She loved the way the wind tickled her wings as she flew. She flew high into the sky, he wings flapping happily.
