Jaculictii (Jaculictis singular) are two-limbed nocturnal mammals that live in dry, arid biomes. They are naturally colored, although the males will often paint themselves with the nectar of cactus flowers that contain a chemical that reacts with their fur, creating vibrant colors. They have manes and fur, although their underbellies are covered in large scales so that they can slither quickly over the hot desert sand. They are solitary animals, however they mate for life.
