Princess Iridescent is a pearl. Priceless, sheltered, and a source of constant irritation. She enjoys all the luxuries that being a princess has to offer while accepting none of the responsibilities. Which suits her chief adviser just fine. Iridescent is thoughtless, and prone to following others suggestions simply to avoid dealing with the matter. Her typically clipped and impatient voice grows sluggish and hesitant whenever she is asked to make a decision.

Hippocamia is a small nation stretched against the coast. It's closest neighbors are the sea ponies that live in the bay. They are famous for their food, their natural baths, and their pearls. Precious metals are almost never used in their jewelry, and cloth chokers are the current fashion. Most mares wear this or some other necklace, usually decorated with shells or pearls.
