Vaara was born with the weapon attached to her leg by a chain. The chain itself is unbreakable and so the weapon cannot be removed, though Vaara has tried many times. The weapon is genetic, but only seems to affect the females in her family. Both her sisters also have weapons and her mother did too; however she died giving birth. Her brother however, remains weaponless and so do any of the male pups her sisters have had. The weapons can be controlled telepathically. As stated before her mother died in child-birth and Vaara never knew her father. She lived with her three sibling, each protecting each other until they were old enough to go their separate ways. Now Vaara has a small piece of territory that she currently lives in, making her den in a cave hidden deep within.
