I think... everything needs a seamstress. even a pirate crew. shhhhhhhh. logic. or else who will mend the sails and make flags?
Bassicaly all I could see is your not using the smoothing^^
a lot of people don't find it, and it's HARD to make smooth lines without it.
To get it you go to the menu you'd use to change the brush size. near the bottom of that there is another... thingy... that says smoothing. you can move that like you would the bar that changes brush size, and it will make the lines... prettier. I usualy have mine in the nintiesXD
The other main trick is the lock alpha button on the layers menu. it allows you to color only on parts of a layer that already have color on them, for example, if I had lock alpha on and when the the layer with the lines, I could bassicaly scribble in a different color without messing up the lines^^
