Bubbles! - Kiamara#279 Art

Postby The Lost Gremlin » Sat Jun 01, 2013 9:07 am

Try-out art for Kia#279. Really love this little cutie, especially those simple, soft colours. I think I could quite honestly say he's my dream Kia >w<

Since I see him as being rather a bouncy and energetic Kia, I thought one of his favourite things would be bubbles and his bubble blower/bubble wand. With all that boundless energy, pouncing and bursting those bubbles is a great way for him to get tuckered out ~ ^^

Thanks. It's really hard drawing on the Oekaki sometimes but I'm happy with how this one came out ^^

It took some practice to find an easy way to draw bubbles... and I guess it's kinda hard to explain... so maybe I'll draw a tutorial.
First I used the round paint/pencil tool, selected a lighter colour (white here) and just clicked the spot where I wanted the bubble. Then using the eraser I selected a size that was a few sizes smaller than used for the pen/pencil tool and erased the middle, effectively creating a ring. Then I simply used the dodge tool to create the shine and a whitish tinge.

That's the jist of it... although it really does sound confusing. It's much easier done than said XD
