Sora nekos are what all of the felines of the world originate from, they are an ancient species, only recently discovered. They are much like the felines of today except that they defy the laws of science, like they can fly and unnatural phenomenon seem to happen around them, some classing it as 'magic'.

There was an old legend of how Astra came
to this world, earning her her name. A night so dark,
every star was seen, and the sky was filled with color.
One star shone brighter than the rest, boasting out it's
wondrous beauty. Then darkness engulfed the star.
When the sky cleared, the star was gone. Stars became dimmer,
afraid to show off their light. The night became a time
of sorrow and dark. Then, another star came,
wishing to be strong and save the sky.
The darkness came once again, and when it was gone,
no star remained in the sky. Only the dark.
Everyone was afraid, scared to go out at night.
Ages past, the sky starless and dull. Then, a small star appeared,
steadily getting brighter each night. Then, a crater was found;
and the star, was gone. But more stars shone through the darkness,
All shining with their brightest. The darkness, was no more.
Soon, a girl found a small sora neko, dripping with the cold dark, the lost souls
of stars stuck in the tarry substance. The neko had battled the darkness, defeating
it. But at a terrible price. This poor neko, had become the darkness itself.
