What is a Slender Hound?
Slender Hounds are very unique creatures. Their chest and body are very thin and smooth. This allows them to run quickly, often reaching speeds around 70mph and even more. Their legs are fairly sleek and long, although their hind legs rise slightly higher than their front. Thus, Slender Hounds are also excellent at jumping. Because of their ability to run and jump their tails have developed to be very long, reaching around their average body length (though this varies). At the end of their tail is a large sphere. What this sphere is made of nobody is quite sure. It's a flawless, smooth, figure that rests just on the end of their tails. This often helps with balance. Their over all fur is short and soft, it tends to flare out, or become longer, around their chest, elbows, heels, stomach, and along their spine. Their furs come in varieties of colors, and something new is always being created when these creatures breed. The most unique features of a Slender Hound are their masks, spheres, and charms. Due to an ancient catastrophe these creatures were cursed. They wear masks that cover the majority or their faces. Because of the masks these creatures are, in fact, blind. However all other senses have since become more powerful. Slender Hounds spheres determine their gender and personality. Males often have bright, glowing spheres, where as females have duller, single colored spheres. This is believed to attract females for breeding and mating purposes. Lastly, a Slender Hounds charm is their most prized possession. Every Hounds charm is different. Each one is bound to their spirit. If it is lost, well, nobody knows.
What is their sphere? Why do they have charms?
A Slender Hounds sphere is a very important part of them. The sphere is the smooth ball that rests on the end of their tail. It determines their gender, and sometimes their personality. Males usually have bright, glowing, multicolored spheres. Where as a females is a duller single color. This is believed to encourage mating and breeding, as the brighter the color the more attractive.
A charm is the most important part of a Slender Hound. It hangs from their tail very loosely but is never forgotten. Every charm is unique, symbolizing something new or different. No two charms are exactly the same. These charms are bound to the Hounds spirit. If it is ever lost or broken the unthinkable may happen. Charms often show a Hounds personality, or characteristics.
