This is Azu and Ammy who I originally made for an English project but I'm going to keep them past that. They also desperately need art for Thursday! Amadi the "Witchdoctor"
Amadi is the older male and lives in an abandoned, traditional, african hut. He has a collection of african masks and he also has a collected pile of pillows that he and Azu sleep on. His name means "free man" in Igbo and "Seemed destined to die at birth" in Yoruba. He is considered a Healer (Witchdoctor term; I've done a lot of research) but he mostly just tells stories. He is only about 3 years old and is a Striped Hyena (An endagered species; that's where I chose the name) but does not show the same fluffy mane. I did not have time to make a reference perfectly for him but here's a rough idea of what he looks like: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/c ... yena_5.jpg He does indeed where a Greater Kudu skull and it is held on to his head with a charm and headdress holding it on. The charm resembles this one on this man's forehead: http://www.osanimi.org/wp-content/uploa ... octor1.jpg but it is made of tanned leather instead of the red material. The skull is not completely real, only the horns, which make it lighter than normal. The gold hoop earrings are a fairly good size, but not overly large. His feather headdress is made of Ground Hornbill feathers, but only the black ones: http://www.naturephoto-cz.com/photos/mr ... a19109.jpg His stripes are pretty exact, but you don't have to draw them perfectly (I.E.: you can have them a little messed up or a couple more than normal, but not overly changed; just make sure the ones on his shoulder are correct and I'll be happy.

Azubuike the "Lost One"
Azu is a middle aged Spotted Hyena pup and is barely 5 months old; he should have been with his mother for another 3 months but had been separated when the pack was being chased. He stumbles upon Ammy's hut and ends up living with him but was never actually invited to. He kind of follows him around for a couple days before one night it rains and Ammy lets him sleep inside. He is still a little kid in personality and loves playing around. They do not share in each other's joking humor but love playing pranks and they both enjoy it. He is much larger than how he is drawn right now; a little like this: http://www.oceanwideimages.com/images/1 ... 645-47.jpg Usually when Ammy tries joking with him, he'll give him the "Really?" look. They usually enjoy time outside with each other and spend most of their days outside. They both love rain, but when it gets to heavy they go inside and Ammy tells Azu some of his stories or even one's he makes up on the spot.
