A turtle dragon is a species of dragon that is distinctively known for their turtle-like shells. (They can also be called T.D.s) Most adult T.D.s grow up to the size of a giant tortoise (about 4 feet!), but in rare cases they can be as small as a green sea turtle. They have short, stubby legs with long claws and a compact body. All turtle dragons have spots next to their eyes, on their upper legs, and tail. Their diet consists of insects and plants; but they also love any kind of dessert. They are well known for their colorful and detailed shells and for making great pets. ^^

This is Turtle dragon #3. <3 She's pretty special, so the form for her is a bit longer than the others. (She has one white horn and one brown one. Her accessory is little heart candies tied on a string around her tail.)

Varoda Chaya, coming from the
Hebrew word "varod" meaning pink
and the Hebrew name "Chaya"
meaning life. She looks so lively
and full of energy, much like
you would be after candy. So,
her name roughly translates
to "pink life" - and for her it's

ღ Matching her markings, Varoda has a sugary sweet personality that is nothing but innocence and naive thoughts. She thinks that everyone has good in them and she trusts way too easily. She has a very girly disposition, liking things such as romantic stories, flowers, and pink. She's got a very kind disposition and she's sweet to everyone, trying to show them that being friendly to one another pays off. She's very sensitive but she does her best to stand up for herself, but most of the time just for others.

✌ Varoda is always the first one to volunteer for a task or to lend a helping hand. Those she assists describe her as thoughtful and endearing, and she always does her best to make a good impression. She absolutely loves to help and to earn some merit in another person or dragon's eyes. She hates feeling helpless or useless, and many could describe her as aiming to please, and that's not too far off.

☮ There are many who would rather be isolated and left to their own devices. This Turtle Dragon is not one of them. Always in the midst of people, she overcomes her own timid nature and socializes with ease. She can't stand not having someone to just be with, even if they aren't actually talking to her. If there's anything she hates, it's awkward silences. She would much rather be in a comfortable atmosphere with people she likes to be around than being the center of attention.

➲ Many people feel lost without someone who can just sit next to them and listen to their worries without judging them. Well, Varrie is that person. She's always open to listening and doing nothing but that, and by offering helpful advice to people and solving their problems with them, she feels complete. She hates not being able to help people and Turtle Dragons, so this is how she contributes to the community, so to speak. She puts them above herself, and she's always gentle and kind with her words, never being harsh or prejudiced toward them. She tries to give them a good impression of how we should behave around one another. It's not rocket science, after all.

Today has been so eventful. I got to explore a meadow with several interesting species of butterflies. I don't know if anyone else knows or has bothered to learn this, but I want to have a job working specifically with butterflies and only butterflies. I can name every species, did you know that?

My favorite is the Painted Lady butterfly:



Aren't they just so beautiful? They look so delicate and... well... proper.
Like a real lady from the Victorian age.

I'd like to work raising diverse species of butterflies and studying their diets, metamorphosis, and lives in general. I'd create a butterfly enclosure and collect all of the different types of fruits, flowers, and nectar. Unlike what most people think, butterflies cannot survive effectively on sugar water. How horrible that would be!

february twenty second, two thousand thirteen

The flowers have been returning, and while the days vary from mild to chilly to downright freezing, I'm starting to see robins and squirrels, so the butterflies won't be far behind. Oh what a cold, hard and lonely winter it has been without them. I despise the cold. It is so unfeeling and merciless, and once it has you in its clutches, spring must fight for your freedom, because it is as if you are a slave to the cold. I really do wish it was not like this, that we could have two weeks of summer and then two weeks of colder weather, just to balance it out. But not three straight months of bleak and shivering! That's pure torture for me.

Ugh. I have to go defrost the trees so their new budding leaves won't start dying. Thank goodness March is almost here. My birthday's actually April seventh, did you know that, friend?
