Plum Blossom

Postby Caracal » Mon Mar 11, 2013 7:35 am

So I was looking up some really pretty blossom art and I came across a beautiful Asian painting that looked like what I thought was a cherry blossom tree. To my surprise it was an Asian style painting on a plum tree with flowers scattered around. I really liked how it looks so I used the idea to make my own digitally but in a simple format. The Asian inspired tree design came out looking really pretty. Plum blossoms actually originated in China, but like always beauty spreads and soon the tree was introduced to places like Japan, Korea, Taiwan and Vietnam. The plum blossom is actually a deciduous plant (plants that loose their leaves every season). The flowers or blossoms on a plum tree can range in a variety of colors like white, bright pink, a mild purple, and even a combination of both. So, do these trees actually give off fruit? Why of course they do, they give you plums. So the next time you see a tree that might look like a cherry blossom, look closely because it could just be a plum tree. I will return in a bit. Peace and enjoy.
