You are taking a stroll along a beach, not making a sound besides the quiet shuffling of your feet against the sand. A cool breeze blows past as you glance out at the misty blue expanse of water. Out of your peripheral vision, you notice something begin to stir, and as you turn to see it, you are shocked at what you see. A large, light blue creature lay as still as the boulders and rocks beside it, staring into your eyes with an unreadable expression. You take a step towards it, and it's gaze intensifies, glowing with warning as if it were telling you to leave, but it still lay silently beside the rocks. You extend your hand out to the creature, and it raises it's head in alarm and stands up. You are shocked to find the creature is the size of a draft horse, as it looked much smaller when it lay beside the boulders. The creature steps toward you, looking at your outstretched hand with curiosity.
Scissors wrote:Ochiru's Name:Caetus
Gender:Male
Why do you want him?:I've always had a soft spot for Great Whites, and when I saw this amazing species, AND this guy up for adoption, right away I fell in love with his design. The thing that got me the most though, was when I found out he based off a Great White Shark.
Story:The full moon rose high in the cloudless night, and the waves lapped silently against the soft, white sand. Caetus flexed his paws and felt the sand in-between his toes. Looking up at the sky, he searched for something, he was not sure what exactly, but he knew he needed to find something. Turning back to the large dark cave he was protecting, he couldn't help but feel a sadness deep inside. The being who raised him since he was found in-between the rocks on the beach, took care of him until he was well enough to be on his own, had asked him to watch over this cave for him until he died, but that man died long ago, and he still felt a strong urge to guard this cave. Let it go... He would often hear a voice whisper into his ears, ruffling his mane as it went, He s long gone now, your debt is repaid...It's time to move on.
The night has long passed, and the noon sun was almost at it's peek. Caetus was hungry, and thirsty, but he hardly ever left the close area of the cave. Normally, prey would just run near enough for him to quickly catch it, or it would rain, and the water would gather in a large leaf, but something was wrong, and there hadn’t been any of those things for days. Now...Now you must let go... With one last look at the cave, he set off in search of food and water.
Caetus had wandered the beach for 3 days since he left, still being fairly young, he couldn't last as long as most Ochiru would without food or water. He was getting tired, and quickly felt the effects of hunger and exhaustion on his body. He decided to lay down, and take a little rest. His eyes started to glaze over and his world started to go black, the last thing he saw before passing out, was a strange figure in the distance. He woke up, in a place he could tell was far from the cave he was raised in. It smelt of pine, and fresh soil, instead of ocean and jungle. He looked around, and noticed a trail of fish, he had a flash back to when he was young, the old man would catch him fish, and feed them to him in small bits before he could eat them on his own. He got up, and followed the trail, every so often stopping to eat a fish or two, before moving on.
He emerged from the trees at dusk, there was a cliff side covered in grass, but not tress, rocks or bushes in the way, as he got closer to the edge, he saw a beautiful ocean view, with a sandy beach down below. Looking to his left, he saw the same figure that saved him. "Hello." It was a females voice, soft, but still had a hint of strength behind it. "I don't mean to sound, strange or anything, but you're lucky I found you." She turned her head to him, and looked him in the eyes. He looked at her, nodded, and started to reply "Yes. Thank you." He bowed "And for that, my life is in your hands. I shall follow, and protect you. Serve, and obey you. I will do this until either you no longer need me, or I meet my death."
From then on, when ever Caetus would look a the moon, he would remember that night he was searching for something in the sky. He would remember the bond him and the old man had, and think of the newer, stronger bond he has now. He will think about how he finally found, what he was looking for.
Thanks to all who entered, and good luck in future adoptions! <3
