WOI armor sketch

Postby SnowStar » Thu Feb 07, 2013 8:32 am

Just a sketch, but I have big plans for this armor.
Inspiration for the armor was a mix between a husky harness, and roof tiles, oddly enough.

I'm still trying to choose the armor color. I was thinking either a copper/bronze look, or a dark grey/black iron look. Leaning more towards the copper/bronze then anything else.

The helmet has three large spike the are slightly overalyed with the looks, and pointing upward to her ears. The feather, Spanish gold coin and beads that are dangling on her helmet are only on her right side. Note: The side points might have chips added to then, I dunno.

For the chest/back/side pieces they are made with the same materiel, and this is where the roof tile inspiration came in. The bottom layer is in fact leather, for comfort in case it was needed to be worn for a long period of time. Similar to roof tiles, the armor pieces are overlayed on each other down the sides (if the roof image of that doesn't work, imagine how feathers are placed on a bird), while the shoulder area is all one piece. The overlayed pieces are in fact tightly together to ensure no "clink clink clink" sound when walking and for protection. The front chest is a mix of chain and leather that goes across, and down toward the underbelly. There is a feather that is tied to the front area. The back part of the armor has four large spikes going down the back, the second one has a chip in it.

Each leg had a brace on it that is engraved with swirls/dot looking symbols (as does the shoulder plate). The tail simply has a string tied to it with four beads and two feathers on it for ornament.

Note: This is a sketch for a WOI I am trying out for!

So full of hate were our eyes
That none of us could see
Our war would yield countless dead
But never victory
So let us cast arms aside
And like discard our wrath
Thou, in faith, will keep us safe
Whilst we find the path
