Why I am Bitter

Postby Fichester » Thu Jan 10, 2013 1:37 pm

"What's the matter with you?" Flamepaw hissed in her ear, leading her away from him.
"What!" Spiderpaw snarled, tearing away from him and turning on him.
"Why are you so bitter?"
Spiderpaw stood there, staring at him. "All these moons I've known you...all these moons we've been friends...and..and you just forget everything!" She screamed, her voice shattering as she choked on her words.
Flamepaw was taken back, and he felt as though claws raked through his heart. He'd never seen her upset--furious and full of hate, but not about to cry. "What do you mean?"
Spiderpaw stared back at him, anger blazing in her eyes while tears streamed down her cheeks. "You remember I was born a loner, don't you? And that I was 4 moons old when I came?"
Flamepaw nodded. There was no way he could forget the day he became an apprentice, the loud loner-kit joined his Clan. "Yes."
"Can't you remember I wasn't alone?" She asked, her voice cracking.
Flamepaw felt like something had dropped on his head, pain searing his brain and heart. But before he could respond, Spiderpaw went on.
"I had my two sisters. But I guess you and Pinepaw were too
busy being the best apprentices ever you didn't stop to notice them! The black she-cat with olive eyes...the white streaks by her eyes...the white tabby marks on her shoulders...Batpaw. The dark brown she-cat with green eyes...Pantherpaw. We always stuck together. One day, after we became apprentices, we went hunting on our own."
Spiderpaw had been staring at Flamepaw, but he gaze drifted past him. He glanced over his shoulder, but she was looking at something in the distance, something only she could see. "The three of chase were chasing a little deer fawn. We came up on one of the cliffs...I stopped, because I hated looking down from the heights...but I froze and didn't stop them..." She trailed off, trying to hold herself together to finish the story. "The deer fell off, and they started to slip. I leapt for them, but it was too late. I was able to catch myself before I followed them. But I couldn't get off the cliff edge fast enough. I had to watch them fall, watch them fall and hear them scream. That's how I got the infected wounds across my belly. Watching them fall to their death made me panic more, and I ended up with the rocks cutting open my belly."
Flamepaw stepped towards her, wanting to comfort her, and she didn't seem to notice. But then she turned her eyes back on him. "That's where I had disappeared to. I spent all those days climbing down the rocks, to find them. I buried them at the bottom of the cliff...but it was horrible. I wanted to die beside them, but I wanted to get back to the Clan to tell everyone what happened. I didn't want the three of us to disappear. That's what the three of us feared; disappearing and being forgotten. Came from being abandoned by our parents. I forced my self back, only to find I couldn't bring myself to talk about it."
"I let them disappear, Flamepaw!" Spiderpaw snarled, fighting against her sorrow with blazing rage. "That's why I'm bitter! That's why I embarrassed you infront of him! Because my life was
somehow changed when the only family I every had died when it was all my fault, and I let them realize their worst fear!" She spit in his face, whipping around and storming off.
"Spiderpaw!" Flamepaw called.
"Flamepaw!" He turned when he heard his brother's voice. "Come on!"
Flamepaw looked back, but Spiderpaw was gone. He sighed. "Coming Pinepaw!" He called half-heartedly, turning and trudging towards his brother's voice.

A bit of a backstory of one of my rp warriors, Spiderhaunt. To help you picture it, Flamepaw and Spiderpaw were talking with a senoir warrior in their Clan. Flamepaw was forcing her too because he was nervous to talk to the warrior, and he was talking about his warrior assesment. Spiderpaw's brutality embarrassed Flamepaw, and he took her aside when he got mad. Then this happened. Not only did I do this so I remember the past I layed out for her, but it was a bit of a vent for my own pain. I listened to Hymm For The Missing by RED until my ears started to bleed. [they didn't bleed, lol, but you get the idea] Check out my friend BARRELS!'s rp, FireClan & CliffClan! Spiderpaw, Flamepaw, and Pinepaw are all in CliffClan and since this is the main rp I'm in with them I used this to help me sort out the scenery details. Comments appreciated!
