The world has changed. I can tell when I walk through the forests. They used to be so beautiful and wild, luscious and green. Now, so few of those forests survive. Most are full of dying trees, but recently I've noticed something. It's coming back. There is a forest by my house that has been long dead for a long time. But I remember how it used to be, when I was only a child. I walk through it frequently, and this time I noticed something: something was sprouting. Just a small something, maybe a weed or flower. But it was something that was living in a long- dead forest. I could see the beginnings of moss growing on the tree. What had happened here?

The next day, I woke earlier than usual and crept into the forest, checking to see if the plants were still there. They were. Carefully sitting behind a tree, I waited for probably ten minutes before something poked its head around the corner. It was beautiful, in a wild and natural way. His- for I thought he looked very masculine- face was benign and joyous as he discovered the small patch had been growing. He sat back on his haunches and began a kind of howl- if one could call it that. It was like a song, and as he sang (as only an Ochiru can do) the plants began to grow. I watched them in amazement.

Oh my, I feel so bad. I'm seeing everything happening and being unable to write it. I promise, though, I'll have it done by tomorrow. I do run on a school day clock, so I won't be actually at home for most of the day.

Story of how you met him/her:
I have always loved the woods. I've slipped out to the forest not far from where i live on multiple occasions. Though, now as i entered the forest, something was different. I could feel a pair of eyes watching me, measuring my every step. I figured it was paranoia from having that scary movie last night. I continued to walk, and the farther in i traveled, the closer i could feel something get to me.
Having natural self defense, i whipped around and threw my hands up to block anything from hitting my face. I saw nothing. Then i caught movement in the corner of my eye.
I slowly turned my head, to see a large, dog like, head poking out from behind a tree. Those eyes had been the ones that were watching me! The creature looked shy, and slowly backed. He was a beautiful creature, graced with silent steps and strong muscles. He moved with ease in the forest. I couldn't stop the smile from pulling at my lips. I had to know more.
I cautiously followed him, not wanting to scare him off. He looked curious about my being here, but also very shy. I knew i had to be careful. Soon, i found him sitting next to a tree. His head was tilted to the side as he watched me, his tail flicking lightly. He licked his lips, and i giggled slightly. I slowly reached my hand out, and said, " hello. I'm Sammy(using username for safety purposes)."
He nodded, like he understood me. He stood, and touched his nose to my paw lightly, as if to say hi, or maybe to get my sent. He was a marvelous creature, with beautiful fur, and an intricate shoulder marking. He sat down in front of me, and seemed to smile. I smiled. This creature could be so cute, despite it's large figure, and defined muscles. Then he spoke, " Hello, i am Oakiren. I have been keeping an eye on you for a while now, and you show no harm to the forest. I thank you for that." He dipped his head, " you show a great love for this forest, and for that, you have my trust." He nudged me lightly, and i smiled, " thank you."
I wasn't sure what it meant, but after i walked to the edge of the forest with Oakiren, and said goodbye, i knew one thing, I had made a new friend.

Story of how you met him/her:
It was a pleasant day outside the cottage, so I decided to brave the dark, secretive woods that lurked beyond the backyard. I knew well of the rumors of strange things happening, and even stranger encounters with the mysterious creatures called Orchiru. I never had seen one before, as my parents never let me go beyond the yards safety. I snatched my camera from where it lay on my desk, eager to get some shots of the Orchiru I believed I knew were out there. Somewhere… I reached for the doorknob after I had equipped myself with the necessary clothes I needed for the winter weather. I opened it, and then glanced around the yard. I saw large, doglike tracks leading from the woods, to the garbage, and then back to the woods. The earth around the garbage was dug into, the earths brown flesh spread over the soft white snow. The garbage can itself was tipped onto its side, yet the contents inside were still safely locked inside. I looked out at the tracks again, taking in the crime scene. I turned back to the house, going into the freezer to take out a package of sandwich meat. Cutting the package open with a pair of handy scissors then emptied the meat into the spare dog bowl we had. My old dog had passed away the year before, old age taking her with its soft grasp. So it wouldn’t be missed by any dog unless my parents just happened to get a new puppy today while they were gone. But this was quite unlikely, so I took the bowl in my mitted hands and walked back outside. I followed the tracks out to the forest. Following the trail until the trees thickened around me, I looked around in awe. The woods were beautiful! I wondered why my parents told me to never come out here… Suddenly, a flash of brown blurred my vision, followed by a cloud of snow from where it ran. I jumped my eyes on the tree. Slowly, I edged my way forward, and as slow as I moved, a wolf like face poked its head behind the tree. On this winter day is where I met the hungry Orchiru I later named Ketiru.
