Forever C H A I N E D
Maybe it was my destiny. Oh, how I am I ever supposed to know if that was true? That won't ever satisfy my hunger for an explination why; why I must look in it's ice-cold eyes. I can see freezing ice and churning water in her eyes, both haunting me as an ever luring death.
It may look simple enough. Happy little she-cat just trying to fit in. But it's not that simple. You may not see it, but I know it's there. The collar snapped onto my neck, with the chain...I can see it linking my blue collar--or blue shackle more like--to her blood-stained bone-studded collar. The strange marks on her burnt-black fur, her deathly glow in the eyes. And her heart- visible on her fur.
It appears frozen solid, but you can faintly see the cracks. Blood seeps out of it onto her fur; but it seems to radiate an evil power into her, not take it away. What do we have in common? A demon cat and an ordinary tortiseshell? Sure, our collars are changed, but certainly that's as deep as it goes?
Of course not. That would be too simple. You go through life simply, until life freezes you out of your vision into reality. That's when I found my Bane. Her blood-stained yellow teeth glinting at me in a crooked smile, the way she seemed to put me in a trance as she circled me with a threat.
Why can't I run away? My collar yanks me back with the chain. I'm stuck with her; stuck with my side of Bane. Now as I try to repair the pieces I lost, my Bane's there ever step of the way. I wont' escape. She's always be there...always be there...No! That's not how my story will end. I've got to find out what happened; and how to reverse it.
