Before you start your drawing make 3 layers....
1st layer = Background
2nd layer = actual drawing/color
3rd layer = outline
Step 1: On the 3rd layer, draw your outline. You can use whatever color you want.
Step 2: Chose your base color for your drawing. Then on the 2nd layer color in the shape using the outline to guide you.
Step 3: Now this is when you need to color in all the secondary colors. I usually airbrush them in, that way you can add lighter and darker shades of each color. After you have all the secondary colors down, lightly blend them together.
Step 4: Use the dodge and burner tool to give the affect of light, shadows and fur detail. I find it easiest to burn/dodge with the size on 1. After you have scribbled down the dodge/burn, smudge them together with the smudging tool on 1.
Step 5: On this step you want to add any extra shadows that the bruner didn't portray. To do that, just use a dark gray and airbrush where ever you want shading or seperation in color. Then you want to color in the eyes/nose/accessories.
Step 6: When your on this step, you can hide/delete the 3rd layer with the outline on it. Now you can see your actual drawing, use the burner or airbrush to add in seperation. In this drawing i had to draw in seperation between the face/neck and the ear on the right.
Sorry if the drawing is sloppy, I rushed it. The timer may be high but that is because i left the computer a lot =P Let me know if you guys have any questions.
