Story : Mr. Blue got his name from his distinctive eyes. He had one brown and one blue eye and many people who visited the barn thought he was a freak or that he was mean because his mismatched eyes gave him a spooky appearance. Nothing could be farther from the truth. He was a love. And what he wanted most in the world was to have one special human to love him, ride him and care for him.
Mr. Blue knew his chances of finding an owner were dwindling with the last days of summer when a young girl stopped by his stall. Blue moved to the front of his stall, ears forward, doing his best to look friendly. She looked up from reading his stall card and said, "Hi there Blue, you're a handsome boy." Blue pressed his white muzzle in-between the bars hoping for a touch. The girl reached out to gently stroked Mr. Blue and that's when he noticed for the first time her right arm ended in a stump, right about where her wrist should have been.
"This is the one I want to try Mom, can we lease him?" the girl said as her mom joined her infront of the stall.
"Are you sure Leena? He looks a bit odd." her mom said gently.
"That's why I like him, she said, he's an odd-ball just like me!"
