Day had left and was quickly replaced by night. The moon and stars took over the dark sky, shimmering lightly. Light wind breezes blew as fog formed on the earth, filling the forests with eerie, unsafe feelings. The trees moved in time with the wind, allowing their loose leaves to fall and dance away.
Within a meadow like forest, a brown furred wolf stood. He perked his ears straight forward, his tail curled between his legs. He took in an uneasy breath. He felt cools sliding along his spine with each passing second. His mind filled with worries and his fears. The wolf wondered why the other was not there, and why she was taking so long.
'M-maybe it is a good thing she doesn't show up... I mean.. what could I possibly offer her?' He tried to reassure himself silently.
Time passed by what felt like very slowly. Still no sign of the she-wolf. No trace of her scent, either. Just when the brown furred male was about to call it quits, a dark feeling entered the meadow.
Before the male had a chance to react, he was knocked forward, right into the trunk of a tree. He hadn't even slightly recovered from the attack when snickering rang in his ears. His eyes shot open and his fur stood on end.
'No!' He wailed in his mind. 'She's here! Why me? Why?'
The brown furred wolf dared his eyes to glance at his attacker as he gulped down a mouthful of air.
In front of him stood a black furred she-wolf with white features and dark green eyes. Her muzzle was turned into a smirking grin. Her eyes slanted with an evil touch. As if these weren't unsettling enough, she had blood dripping from her muzzle.
"Are you ready to speak now, mutt?" The she-wolf snarled, her eyes narrowing.
"I-I-I don't know any-anything!" The male pleaded. "Please.. l-let me go!"
"Oh? You don't? Whats wrong with the big, bad wolf all of a sudden?" She sneered, her eyes slanting once again and her muzzle turned back to a grin. "You talked big four sunrises ago, ready to teach this 'little girl' a lesson for knowing too much."
The she-wolf paused, observing the male closely as he squirmed nervously. She cackled, feeling amused.
"I know you work for Saber.. and Saber owes my master, Daemon, a certain something. Something he promised Daemon."
The brown wolf gulped harder, his heart beat quickening by the second.
"Look.. I had nothing to do with that! Sure, I hunt with him and we talk, but that's it! My brother tells me nothing!"
The black furred she-wolf growled, annoyance clearly in her eyes. She began to circle the brown male.
"Your muzzle may lie, but your eyes don't." She rasped with a dark edge. She continued to circle him, slowing her pace slightly.
"You know.. that rabbit I had before I came here was a good snack. But maybe I need something else to fill my belly?"
