Try as she might, the flames continued to eat away at the island forest; engulfing the foliage with it's endlessly gluttonous maw. Bending the trees to her will did little to subdue the flames. The water held within the tangles of branches merely evaporated as soon as it touched the smoldering death below.
She felt it, too. The pain of the forest. Every tree, shrub and weed wilted in agony, and with them she, too, writhed. Weakened, defeated, she sprawled out on a branch of the life tree; the very tree that started the forest and birthed her into existence. She could not cry as she watched the flames draw rapidly closer, though her eyes stung immensely from the smoke and emotions.
All she could do was watch as her entire world burned to the ground, taking her along with it.
Dug up an old character of mine to practice on.
For those familiar with Neopets it'll be easy to tell what species she is. I designed her back when Neopets was cool and allowed you to make awesome petpages.
Vixvania is her name, I believe. She is a forest spirit of sorts, and yes, her "mane" is meant to look like gelatinous goop.
Is it weird that I enjoy thinking out how all of my characters eventually die? Maybe it's my taste in sad music... =w=;
I might add more detail to this later if I feel like it. Critiques are very welcome here!
