I've seen these little guys everywhere, and so when I finally got the oekaki to work on my computer, I thought I'd color in a few of them just to get a feel for how the program works. :3
Anyway, hope you guys are up for a contest or two, 'cause if you want one of these cats, you must win one of these mini competitions!
All mini-contests end Monday, October 8
It's been forever since then... there is no longer an official "end date".

Notes:
- Cats 1 and 5 are first-solve-first-serve. The rest are not.
- You can skip the intro stories if you like.
- You may enter for up to three cats.
- Grammar and spelling matter.
Cat #1: Scavenger Hunt
You find Cat 1 pawing through a big pile of stuff and checking a list. "Okay, I got the gummi frogs, the fairy jars...even the time-warping telephone booth! But these last three ...argh, it's no good," the cat growls. "I just can't find 'em!"
The cat suddenly scents your presence and turns around. "Heya," it meows. "I'm glad I found you! I'm in the middle of a scavenger hunt, and I can't find these last three items. Do you think you could help me?"
Cat 1 needs:
1. A picture of a picture.
2. A quote that contains a nonsense word (e.g. jabberwocky).
3. Something fiery.
Quickest (correct) entry wins!
Cat #2: Poetry Corner
Cat 2 is perched gracefully at the edge of a pond, gazing into the water and quietly reflecting. (lolpun) In the grass close by lies a book of poetry. You flip through it until you reach a blank page. "I'm sorry, but Cat 2 is lost in thought at the moment," reads a note tucked inside the book. "Please leave your name, number and poem after the dotted line, and Cat 2 will get back to you as soon as possible. And may just follow you home, if your poem is suitably imaginative.")
(Write a short poem (8 lines or less) about anything you wish. Whether or not it rhymes is up to you. Haikus count, too- just remember the 5-7-5 syllable rule.)
Most creative poem wins!
Cat #3: Catron of the Arts (Won by hyliangirl)
"Why, hello," says Cat 3 upon seeing you. "Make yourself at home. Can I get you anything? Tea, lemonade, catnip?"
Sitting down, you glance at the walls of Cat 3's abode, which are covered in intricate sketches.
"An old human-friend of mine used to love drawing anything and everything in sight," mews Cat 3, noticing you noticing the pictures. The cat sighs. "How I miss him. He brought home a new sketch every day. I remember staring at them for hours on end."
Suddenly, the cat brightens up, noticing a pencil in your pocket. "Hey, do you know how to draw?"
(Sketch something quickly in the Oekaki- anything you want, in any style you want. Or just enter something that you've already drawn, Oekaki or otherwise. It MUST be drawn by you, though- color-me-in images don't count.)
Cat 3's favorite drawing wins.
Cat #4: Stand-Up Comedy
From out of nowhere, a spotlight shines down on Cat 4. "Welcome, ladies and gentlecats, to Open Mic Night at the Helter Shelter Comedy Club! I have a very special guest for you tonight. I should warn all you fine felines, though- this guest needs to be able to speak, so make no attempt to "get" their tongue, okay?"
You hear some chuckles and a few groans. A mic suddenly appears from nowhere, materializing in front of your face. "Without fur-ther ado, I'd like to present... this human! Go on, tell us a joke."
(...Just like Cat 4 said. Tell a joke, any joke. Except not the "orange you glad" routine.)
Funniest joke wins! :3
Cat #5: Sphinx Game (Won by ChubLover<3)
"Welcome, O most foolish mortal," says Cat 5 in an overly dramatic voice. "Please come in, and mind the portal."
You carefully step over a mysterious blue ring on the floor, coming face-to-face with Cat 5, who sits on top of a pedestal.
"Answer me these riddles three," it continues, "and to your home I'll follow ye. Beware, though, friend, for should you fail, you'll get... um... spam. In your e-mail. Yes."
...This cat needs poetry classes. Anyway, it presents you with a scroll, upon which is written the following:
Solve these riddles.
1. What has wings but cannot fly? (Hint: It's not a bird.)
2. What has banks but no money?
3. What gets wetter the more it dries?
First correct answers win!
Cat #6: Story Time!
"Um... what the heck?" asks Cat 6, examining the rainbow... thing... attached to its forehead. "How did that get there? What is it, anyway? A feather from the Rainbow Phoenix? A vestigial unicorn horn? The result of eating too many Skittles? I just don't remember..."
Finally noticing you, the cat turns away from pawing at the... thing... and greets you. "Hi, nice to meet you! Hey, check out this doodad on my head... what do you think happened there? Oh, and by the way, do you wanna play ring toss?"
(Write a short-and-sweet story- one paragraph is good- that explains exactly what the heck the rainbow thing on this cat's head is and how he/she got it.
There is no right or wrong answer, so go for it with all of your imagination!)
Most well-written story wins!
