Shay is bubbly and sweet, but as stubborn as a mule. She's a trickster who likes playing pranks on the other chubs and making plenty of drama to keep herself occupied. However, she loves deeply and is easily hurt. She is young and niave, but wants foals when she gets older. Her favorite thing to do is jump hurdles (although sometimes it doesn't turn out too well with her short little legs) or swim (hard to stay afloat, though...). Despite her outward front, Shay is actually very intelligent and often writes short romance stories when she's alone in her stall with the help of her human owner. She finds it hard to hold a grudge for more than about a half an hour, and often forgives even those who have treated her horribly. She's very competitive. Her favorite foods are baby carrots and timothy hay, and she sleeps a lot, especially when there's not much going on and she gets bored. She dreams of meeting a handsome mate who's a good swimmer and likes to read romance stories.
Story:
Shay woke up slowly, stretching and yawning before she finally sighed and opened her eyes to the sharp, bright light of the new day. "Ugggh," She groaned, "Why does it always have to be so bright?" She manuvered her way to the window and tugged on the shades' string with her teeth until it slid down and darkened the room, making her smile a little. "Much better." Looking around, she realized that her stall was a mess, littered with pencils and bits of their broken-off lead, as well as plenty of crumpled pages and one neat stack of them in the corner. Who would have known writing could be such a big mess?
On top of the stack of papers she found her breakfast, and gulped down the dozen orange carrots quickly, with glee. She was ready to go, energy refilled, feeling like the day was just begging to be seized. Nudging her stall door open, she let out a soft whinny and trotted down the hallway until she entered the pasture and sighed contentedly as she glanced around, seeing all of the other chubs around. "It's a beautiful day for mischief," She cackled softly to herself, glancing around for the perfect opportunity. Candytuft was standing just below the edge of the roof with her new foal, grooming the child happily. Awesome! Shay took a scrap of rope she had found inside of her owner's tool box and went to work.
She fastened one end of the fraying rope to the door frame where she had been standing, and the other end to the edge of the building, only a foot or two away from where Candytuft had been. When the older mare stepped forward to trot into the sunshine, she was sent sprawling with the most amusing look of surprise on her face. Shay had meant to keep who had done it a secret for drama, but she couldn't help but laugh -- especially when Candytuft's foal foolishly followed her mother and tumbled head-over-heels as well, with a squeal of shock. "I got them so good!" She stomped her hooves gleefully before gathering up her rope, satisfied that she had scared them, although neither had been hurt any farther than getting a nice coating of dust on their lightly-colored bodies. "Oooh, that's the way to start a day!" Shay chuckled to herself for the next couple of minutes as she stashed away the rope in a safe hiding place and waited for the drama to unfold...
