The Anquirey (Anne-quire-aye) is a sea creature with a powerful tail, which it uses as its back legs.
With mating, the male with the largest tail 'gets the cake'. If they have equal sized tails, they fight, throwing jets of wate at each other on a slippery rock, seeing who falls first.
They come in many colours, ranging from brown to green to orange.
They're sometimes mistaken for mermaids when the jump into the air, and land back in the water with a thud.
But after the years, they have become less in contact with people, as some people say their bones and flesh have 'magical qualities'.
Anquireys have no eyes, only a cloth where it's eyes should be.
Nobody knows where or how they get these cloths, but there are many stories.
Anquireys hatch from eggs that are disguised as strange jellyfish. The egg's tentacles do sting.
