Well now.....Look what came out of Hiding!
This male Silky Dragon is very rare in coloration because he is almost totally black! Usually Males are brightly colored, but this guy seems to have been born on Halloween...Hmm.....

Silky Dragons live anywhere where there are mountains. They may look like they are covered in fur, but actually they are covered in millions of Feathers. The Silky Dragon gets it's name from the silky feel of the feathering on its legs, which are so fine and smooth that they are almost Silk like in feel. Silky Dragons have been known to live up to 500 years, maturing at the age of 3 years like horses. Silky Dragons eat anything, but prefer to prey upon the animals of their territory, which can consist of Mountain Goats, Big Horn Sheep, and the occasional Mountain lion. They nest in caves and will collect soft materials, such as feathers, soft shredded grasses and sometimes hiking equipment... They lay eggs and a usual brood consists of 2-4 eggs which will hatch into miniature adult versions of the parents in about 25 days after laying. Both the male and the female will take turns on the nest and then will take turns caring for their young. The young mature at the age of 3 and will set off on their own to look for a territory to call their own. The males will use the ram like horns in battle, ramming their opponent and then using their fangs and claws as well. Their front feet can be sometimes used as "hands" to hold objects. The males sport bright colors and markings while the female and young have dull colors and markings to hide them.

Art or Story about the Dragon on Halloween Night: Malevolous growled as he hobbled down the mountain slowly, his claws aching. He was so tired and sore. He shook himself and tried to open his eyes more, his gaze turning skyward as he looked at the full moon. Tonight was what the humans called 'Halloween'. He didn't particularly like halloween. Humans were already scared enough as it was. Why have a holiday to celebrate being scared?!

Malevolous shook himself again and continued walking down his mountain, favoring his left hand. He had stabbed it into a very large rock, and he needed to wash the wound out quickly. The only body of water was a small stream at the bottom of the mountain, and maneuvering the rocky terrain with only three legs was proving difficult.

Malevolous paused as he looked down over the small city that he lived near. Lights were on and decorations lit up the night, making the full moon almost invisible from the light pollution. Malevolous growled. He didn't like being so close to the humans on such an active night, but he really had no choice....

Moving carefully, Malevolous continued down the mountain until the sound of a brook trickling caught his sensitive ears. He turned himself into the direction of the noise and hurried himself up a bit. The snatches of whispers caught Malevolous' ear and he paused. Humans? This far up the mountain? Malevolous ducked down and began to crawl over to the bushes. He was really hating halloween!

Silky Dragons have been known to live for around 500 years! My Sherlock is about 200 years old.....
