About DODs:
Denari Orb Dragons are large, furry dragons with tiny orbs held up around their wings and tails by some un-earthly force. They are an extremely rare species, and only a few exist. They don't breed often at all, most don't breed at all in their lifetime.
Orbs
Denari Orbs are an extremely unique, and not much is known about them. They have an extremely hard shell, but inside is a kind of plasma. Not liquid, not solid, not gas. It glows at times where the Dragon is experiencing a very strong emotion, and the plasma also seems to glitter inside of the shell. The outside shell is clear, and harder than diamonds. It is almost impossible to break one.
It is possible to take an orb away from a dragon, the force holding them to the creature isn't too strong, but strong enough to keep them floating all around.
Denari Dragons use their orbs for magic, but they rarely use it. The magic is weak though, so not much can be done. Most dragons just try to keep their orbs beautiful to show off.
Fur
They have long, feathery fur that is thick and not the softest. They do have parts of their body where their fur gets thinner and extremely soft. These parts are usually behind their ears, under their chin on the neck, tail tips, and their wings. The only part of their fur that is different is the center of their tail. It is much shorter fur, that is almost velvety and very different.
Scales/Wings
They also have thick, bony scales dotted around their body. Once a year, the scales fall off and new scales grow. The new scales don't always grow in the exact same spots, but they are often concentrated around their face, upper parts of their legs, rump, and on their tail. The wings are small, and they are unable to really fly. They do help the DODs leap farther and higher, though.
Size/Age
Their necks are long, and their tail is often about the length of their body when their necks are stretched straight forward.
Denari Dragons are large, their minimum size is 10 feet tall and 30 feet long (Includes tail). They usually do not grow larger than 20 feet tall and 60 feet long. DODs live quite long as well, their general life span is 500-700 years. Females often live longer than males.
