Okay here's my first try on my new species called a Dragon Dog, which is what the title means in Irish. Her name is Vivi and she's basically a newborn Dreg at the moment and won't get her dots just yet until she too finds out what she's good at.
Basically this is only just a baby and the young tend to live underground until they're adolescents. During this time it's crucial for them to learn what they're good at or else they won't get their dots. They don't open they're eyes until they're teens either and the horn on their head is both magical and has healing powers and can be used as a weapon. Adults have these young ones and call them "Dregs" often which is short for
D-estructive,
R-ambunctious,
E-xploring,
G-ifted
S-ouls.
Though not always the best at just lying still, Dregs always have the best defense against predators, which is their ability to simply dig or swim their way out of trouble. That's right. They dig with powerful hidden claws, that could cut metal in half if used with enough power, and swimming simply becomes second nature to them. All Dregs are born with these traits. Dregs also are hatched from dull colored soccer-sized eggs. They hatch using their horns to break free.
Though Dragon Madraí live together during both mating and the raising of young, they are often solitary otherwise, and tend to shy away from eachother, whether to avoid conflict or simply because they frighten eachother at times. But they always come back to the place where they were born when they're elders and by then they find they have nothing left to fear.
Size
Elder size- Size of a mare.
Adults size- Between the size of a dog to a pony
Adolescents size- Small dog to a large one (Varies often)
Dreg size- Chihuahua sized.
Egg- Size of a soccer ball.
Eye Dots and meanings
Red- Strong, determined
Yellow- Fast, quick
Green- Good at hiding
Blue- Great swimmer
Orange- Fast digger
White- Quick clawed
Black- Smart, quick-witted
Silver- Lively, great at parties
Purple- Shy, good adviser
Turquoise- Artistic
Grey- Good listener
