[From his point of veiw]
As I raced across the field, I knew it was over. There were two men after me in a jeep with large shotguns and ropes. How was I supposed to survive against them? I kept running, speeding with all my strength and then feeling myself slow down, getting more and more worn down. I knew that's just what they wanted. I am doomed, I thought.
Then I saw it, my way out. I raced towards a forest on the far side of the field struggling to make my long legs move any faster. I finally reached the darkness and cover of the tightly packed trees and I finally slowed myself to slow down. "I made it." I laughed to myself and gave a wild buck. "I MADE IT!" I screamed and did a extremely ridiculous dance of pure joy at being alive. Then the world changed.
A heard the snap of a twing above me and looked up curiously. I saw my worst fear... mountain lion. Before I could move the nasty cat came crashing down on me with full force, knocking me to the ground. I whinnied in pain and distress and kicked with all my might. Finally I knocked the lion off and kicked its head, hard. The mountain lion laid still. I tried to move and made it to a river, and collapsed in a bloody, sweaty mess.
When I woke I managed to drink from the river and when my ears stopped ringing, I stood up slowly. I then made the mistake of looking at myself. I realized with a shock I was blind in one eye. I sighed and realized I was scarred for life. I walked away from the river and looked for somewhere to go.
