Short Story:
In The Beginning...
Storms were brewing, lighting cracked and thunder rumbled as a neigh was heard across the Bayou. A mare was giving birth to a little filly, rain pouring down as she laid beneath some shelter. There was one last push, and a little whinny came out of a young fragile foal. Her coat was bright against her mother's dark brown fur, brown splashes of color against her white pelt. Mane and tail as dark as night with hints of white flowing through. Her eyes popping against the brown circle that surrounded her eyelids, wandering looking for her mother. Her warm muzzle finding her mother's face, which seemed lifeless and just laid there eyes closed. She lifted herself with wobbly legs, standing tall above her mother. She walked away, the rain still pouring down upon her white and brown splashed coat. Her light brown eyes trying to find another or some shelter, knowing if she stayed with her mother she would also become an alligator's next meal.
How She Got Her Name....
Wander got her name by when she was younger, she didn't know that she had the ability to let humans see her. One day a man had saw the little filly's white coat but couldn't see the brown. He had taken a closer look to see a horse-like creature but didn't know if it was his imagination. All he had done was call out 'Wandering Spirit' and her ears perked up as if she had accepted that as her name. With a blink of an eye, she had disappeared within the Bayou leaving the guy to wonder where she had gone. The man still looks for Wander since that day he had given her name, but still cannot find her within the swampy areas of the Bayou.
